Arturo Desimone

Arturo Desimone is a poet, writer, playwright, assistant director, from Aruba with Argentine and East-European roots. He first opened this account to help disseminate the music of his late father and grandfather, both of whom were Argentine professional musicians forgotten by music history. Arturo is the first male in the Desimone family within four generations who was not raised to be a professional musician--they attempted to spare him, or to spare music, so he became a poet instead. Arturo is also a firm believer in the oral dimension of poetry, and in the poem's impact on the ear. This is why he has also uploaded an audiobook of his first book of poems written in Papiamento, the creole language of Aruba.
