Bozenga
Bozenga, the 10-member Global Groove orchestra, blends impressions from the world around them with their own everyday experiences in the city. The orchestra is based in Denmark and has a love for music and atmosphere influenced by the African continent. The orchestra's desire is to provide a party and a musical journey through a variety of expressions of what inspires them to play and be creative in music.
Their aim is to deliver a danceable and festive experience while also providing a more detailed and satisfying feeling for the more attentive audience members. The orchestra was formed when drummer Tobias Havskov Sørensen had his graduation concert at MGK (Musical Basic Course), bringing people from his musical journey together to form a large and warm-hearted band that thrives today. The band has since recorded an EP released in early 2024.
Bozenga's debut EP, 'Superoptimister,' is a musical journey through complex themes, approached with both depth and playfulness. On the EP, the band explores the borderland between activism and celebration, creating a vibrant universe that speaks to both the heart and the dance floor. With its explosive fusion of afrobeat, pop, jazz, and rock filtered through a Copenhagen mindset, shaped into a release as a tribute to diversity, it radiates throughout the publication, inviting everyone to dance, embrace each other's differences, and take action on the looming climate changes. 'Superoptimister' is not just a musical statement; it's a call to unite in love and act for a better future.
