Cheap Jeep

Copenhagen-based trio Cheap Jeep is the sound of three musical wolves who found each other somewhere between the Tasmanian wilderness, the Appalachian foothills of North Carolina, the capital of country music - Nashville, and the streets of Copenhagen.

With resonator guitar, mandolin, upright bass, three-part vocal harmonies and powerful songwriting, the trio creates an acoustic Americana universe entirely their own. Rooted in the traditions of folk, bluegrass and country, their sound is also fearless and experimental, unconcerned with genre boundaries or musical trends.

Cheap Jeep consists of Australian Tom Dockray, American Rick Hauchman and Danish Mads Bendsen. Three musicians with different backgrounds, personalities and nationalities who found a shared identity in their love of music, the joy of playing and a friendship with plenty of room to breathe. Their songs grapple with life’s biggest questions with tenderness, reflection, unpretentious honesty, a touch of politics and the offbeat, quirky humour that characterises both the songs and the people behind them.

Since their debut in 2024, Cheap Jeep have released three EPs, received airplay on Danish national radio, and built a reputation as a formidable live act. They have performed at established venues and festivals all over Denmark, including headline shows in Copenhagen, a support slot for American singer-songwriter Dean Johnson, and Cold Country Festival where the trio were named audience favourites.

On 18 September 2026, Cheap Jeep released their first full-length album, Weather Lady, with songs from the album already receiving national airplay on Danish radio DRP5.
