English lyrics send listeners surfing on a Murakami novel in a universe of dreamy synths, noisy, melodious guitars, insistent bass lines, and beats from both drum machines and acoustic drums. Post-punk, shoegaze, and electronica are the mothers of their music, shrouded in both ecstasy and melancholy—just like life itself.
