Pull Yourself Together by Merete Mongstad (N) is her comeback- single as a soloartist. Pull Yourself Together is a deeply personal song about living with an invisible illness—the shame of not functioning the way you're "supposed" to, and the constant effort of trying to hide it from the outside world.
Mongstad writes, produces, mixes, and master her own material. Drawing from her career as a professional sound designer for film, theater, and art, complemented by formal studies in music production, she maintains complete creative autonomy over her sound. Embracing the beauty of "art by accident," her solo project is a raw, unvarnished look behind the scenes—inviting listeners to connect with the genuine, imperfect human behind the music.
No stranger to the music scene, Mongstad is known for her work in the duo The Silence Is Out Of Tune (currently gearing up for a vinyl EP release following three spring singles). Her extensive indie track record also includes Children And Corpse Playing In The Streets (NO), S. M. Mongstad (DK), Jodeladies (DK), and Kyed (DK), whose tracks were featured on the cult film soundtrack for Pusher.
That DIY spirit extends to the visuals: Featuring photography by Nadine Martinuzzi, Mongstad handles all graphic design and cover art herself.
