Michael Bønsdorf is a Danish composer born in the city of Odense in 1965. He holds a master's degree in musicology from the University of Aalborg. In conjunction with his university studies he studied theory and composition with renowned Danish composers Svend Christiansen, Svend Hvidtfelt Nielsen and Niels Marthinsen. Michael Bønsdorf is a member of the Danish Composers’ Society (www.komponistforeningen.dk) and the composer´s society "Komvest". His work has been greatly influenced by a vivid range of composers from J.S. Bach over Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Francis Poulenc, Igor Stravinsky, Sergey Prokofiev, Bela Bartok, Arnold Schönberg, Kurt Weill, George Gershwin, William Walton, Malcolm Arnold, N.V.
