MIRAKEL is an exciting new duo that blends genres across the board.
With roots in both Eastern and Western folk music, pop, sacred music, and electro, Marte Schau
and Mikael Fleron create a sound entirely their own. They are two skilled musicians with many
years of experience on the world music scene. Together, they have created a new genre: Spiritual
Electro Folk.
MIRAKEL lifts you on light wings of virtuosity and playfulness, with catchy pop songs and free
improvisations. Their music moves from the quiet and intimate to the danceable and almost
hypnotic. And when Marte's voice and Mikael's saxophone intertwine with floating atmospheres
and groovy beats, love is in the air! Their repertoire consists of original compositions, where small
mantras sometimes sneak in, giving the audience a chance to sing along and become part of the
experience.
The lyrics are primarily in English, carrying messages of love, light, and joy, encouraging the
choice of the path of love.
Norwegian-born Marte, and Mikael, who is Danish, have been a couple for 25 years and live in
Copenhagen with their children, so they know each other very well, both personally and musically.
Boundaries are open, and magic happens when they play with keyboards, harp, saxophone, beats,
and vocals.
Marte is a primal force. Her powerful voice ranges from the deepest warmth, through the raw and
intense, to the brightest crystal-clear expressions. With her heart in hand, she gives you the
opportunity to feel, sense, and let go.
Mikael's main instrument is the saxophone, which appears with cascades of Nordic and Oriental
tones when he freely improvises in Mirakel's gentle universe. And he weaves magic with the
machines, making synthesizers and beats pulse with irresistible rhythm.
With their loopers, they build layer upon layer of harmony, and their performances are full of
presence and humour. Get ready for a miraculous shower of love!
