Nathav

VERIFIED

Nathav washes in with disturbingly understated and enigmatic music, ranging from electronic blues to minimalist jazzy synth-pop. Balancing on the edge of the abyss, Nathav brings a deluge of misfortune and doomed love affairs – with a hint of the unbearable lightness of being.

Mathilde Lunderskov is behind the name, which means “Night Ocean” in Danish. With Nathav, she has plunged into a dark electronic pop universe that really shows what the versatile composer and singer has to offer. The singles You Still Miss Her and Boy Model has already been placed on numerous international playlists and blogs. Now the rest will follow - the EP Moon River is out now.

Bio
Her voice and style are often compared to Kate Bush and Goldfrapp, but Mathilde Lunderskov has always had a penchant for a dramatic sound and otherworldly high pitch vocals. She first broke the sound barrier as the lead singer of the pioneer Scandinavian indiepop band Lovebites, with whom she released 3 albums. After the band disbanded, she dived into the underground and founded dreampop-noir band Blake with whom she toured Europe and featured on various hip hop and club releases. In 2010 she formed the synth-pop duo Umatic with her brother Lukas Lunderskov and released the critically acclaimed album Ashes & Diamonds, which won a UMA and great attention from international blogs, such as Nordic By Nature, NME, Ja Ja Ja Music, Band Of The Day, All Scandinavian, Good because its Danish etc.She ventured into a darker electronic pop universe with her first solo release Nathav, which started as a Danish-language musical project based on piano, synthesizers and her voice. Disturbingly understated and enigmatic pop that balances on the edge of the abyss.

Like her debut, her new EP Moon River is produced by Noah Rosanes, who has worked with a wide range of artists and projects. The two go way back when their parents played together in the 70s disco vocal group Flair.

Moon River is lingering downtempo alt-pop with 4 tracks ranging from electronic blues to minimalist synth-pop - this time in English.
