POPS plays extroverted Brit rock as well as lyrical ballads that draw inspiration from 60s and 70s beat music. The lyrics deal with the ups and downs of existence from different angles – often with self-irony. The songs were written by Peter Haandsbæk, who has performed together with Mikael Bertelsen for many years. In POPS, they are together with Kristian Lorenzen, with roots in indie rock, and Nicklas Steen Jensen, who is a jazz guitarist.
