Focus and Fourth are two original jazz compositions by René Mogensen released on streaming platforms for the first time. This newly remastered recording from 1996 features René on Tenor Saxophone, Jim Labita on piano and Terry Newman on bass. This group, with varying constellations of performers, was active in various venues in the New York City area in the mid- and late-1990s. Focus is a post-Cool contrapuntal exploration and Fourth is a more 'angular' post-Bop style.
