Resonant Cities

Resonant Cities is a site-specific, meditative concert that transforms the urban landscape into an immersive sonic experience. Combining the organic resonance of the carillon with electronic textures, live sampling, and effects, the performance explores the intersection of historical and modern soundscapes, bridging the physicality of bells with the ethereal nature of ambient music.
Inspired by Brian Eno’s Music for Airports, this project embraces a modal, minimalistic approach, where slowly evolving harmonies and layered sound textures create a sense of suspension in time. The deep overtones of the carillon interact with subtle electronic manipulations, while field recordings from the city—distant traffic, echoes of voices, the pulse of urban life—are woven into the
composition, blurring the boundary between structured music and found sound.
