Skovblod is a band that builds their sound on their Scandinavian heritage by blending elements of modern, traditional, and folk metal. The inspirations range from Tesseract to Insomnium and Wardruna, which is expressed in epic soundscapes that consist of Nordic sounding lead melodies and the heaviness of the dark winter months. Skovblod started in as a solo project by guitarist Aksel Terkelsen with the release of the EP From the Void, aiming to modernize folk metal with elements of progressive metal and djent.
