St.Yesterday

VERIFIED

St.Yesterday (SXY) built their reputation the old way: loud amps, dark rooms, and letting it all out live. Formed 2009 in Southern Ontario, the band quickly gained a loyal following thanks to their outrageous style and swashbuckling attitude. Trained for the opera but drawn to the chaos, vocalist Daniel Panetta, also known as Danny Payne, found his true calling as a commanding rock and roll front man alongside guitarist Jack Panic, formerly of Canadian post-hardcore heavyweights Sparrows (Dine Alone/New Damage Records), and fellow guitar-slinger Felix Foxtail. The group punches hard with driving rhythms a la "Queens of the Stone Age" and the pulsing urgency of fellow Toronto alumni "Billy Talent" - the result, a self-described "Neon Alt Rock" blends frantic melodic aggression with an undeniable raw presence.

Early momentum in the underground club scene led to a supporting run with Canadian rock icons
Die Mannequin, and shows at historic Toronto venues such as The Opera House, The El Mocambo, and The Bovine Sex Club helped the band sharpen that live edge. Their unmistakable energy would carry over into broader exposure, with appearances on VEVO’s Alternative charts, multiple finalist nods on Rock 95’s Local & Loud, and features with Indie Week Canada, eTalk, and Rogers Daytime.

After laying the groundwork with their EP "Awoken" in 2012 and singles in 2016 and 2018, St.Yesterday are gearing up for their upcoming full-length album due in 2026.
